Back in the day, Hip-Hop' s original bad boy and former member of 2 Live Crew, Luther "Luke" Campbell paved the way for freedom of lyrical expression by challenging
America's justice system. Now Luke is getting a taste of his own medicine as he tries to protect his two children from today's raunchy influences, just as parents tried to do with his music. For the first time, this notorious bachelor is settling down and trying to separate business and family life. Welcome to Hip-Hop artist/producer/entrepreneur Luther "Luke" Campbell's world.

Premiering on VH1 on Monday, August 4th at 10 PM ET/PT, "Luke's Parental Advisory" gives viewers a look inside the day-to-day life of the man who introduced the "booty-shaking" element to Hip-Hop known as "Miami Bass," and won the music industry's biggest freedom of speech battle in the Supreme Court which resulted in warning labels on music. Today, Luke's hands are full with planning his wedding to Kristin, a successful lawyer and beautiful 27 year-old fiancée, giving his 17-year old daughter Lacresha's boyfriend the third degree, and confiscating pornography tapes from under 15 year-old Luther Jr.'s bed. Also central to Luke's life are his weekly trips to the local barbershop, Cut It Up, where the lively regulars listen to Luke pontificate and then bring him right back down to size.

But make no mistake, Luke Campbell has not totally traded in his former lifestyle for the straight and narrow road. Luke vows to have the bachelor party of all bachelor parties, plans to wear hip-hop attire instead of a tuxedo, and wants a cake designed as a silhouette of a woman on his wedding day. Luke and his family and friends will also be active on FamousVh1Friends.com - an innovative new social network that allows fans to connect directly with every member of the cast, view their personal pictures and video blogs and meet other fans of the show.

GRANDMASTER FLASH WRITES TELL-ALL:

Flash details his life story - from his violent family life to his drug addiction to creating turntable techniques that have come to define Hip-Hop - in a new autobiography titled " The Adventures of Grandmaster Flash: My Life, My Beats."

"This whole book was scary for me," Flash tells the New York Daily News. "We as human beings, we don't willingly display our skeletons, our pains, our hurts - not the deep, deep, deep ones."

The Broadway Books effort, which hit stores this week, also includes the volatile relationship Flash had with Sylvia Robinson, who signed his group Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five to their first record deal with her label Sugar Hill Records.

"She did do some things that in today's world would probably get her head chopped off," says Flash, whose real name is Joseph Saddler, "but she did rule with an iron fist and we were under fear with her - although we did make some great records"...

Urban Music Alliance is the only digital distributor catering to the needs of the Urban market:

More and more, it has become clear that Urban Artists are being treated unfairly by record labels and management alike, there is little opportunity for them to be exposed in the US and Global markets, and that limited exposure generally rewards the record Labels and Management to a far greater extent than the artists who do the hard work. Urban Music Alliance is addressing that disparity, giving Artists an opportunity to sell their product Internationally at Royalty Rates generally reserved for Record Companies, and with complete transparency.

Urban Music Alliance is a digital media distribution company that provides various distribution and marketing services for its Artists/Labels. Our network of digital retail partners includes all the major distributors such as iTunes, Amazon, eMusic, Rhapsody, Napster, Sprint, Verizon and T Mobile, as well as dozens of newly emerging outlets. We distribute to retailers around the world and are tapped into the most efficient delivery and content management systems in the business. Our Console allows our clients complete access to view the status of their sales and releases. Clients can view where their releases have been delivered, where they are in the distribution process and most importantly, see a very detailed sales history. Urban Music Alliance is the only digital distributor catering to the needs of the Urban market. For more info email: morgan@urbanmusicalliance.com...

Rap Attack takes a "WHAT'S UPPER" look this week with:

BREAKING NEWS BREAKING NEWS BREAKING NEWS

EarthQuake (Live365.com): "I wanted to let everyone know that On Aug 31st “The Off Da Richter Scale Rapshow” will end. I have decided that after 8 years I can’t give this show the time I want and need to give. I still have the passion to do a show or segment or something so we will see what happens.

Thanks to everyone that sent me messages last week. It meant a lot.

So I have will a brand new show up on Aug3 which will run for 2 weeks then my final show will be Aug 17th and run for two weeks at: www.live365.com/stations/quake551

Holla at me if you want to chat at: quake551@comcast.net...

Nesto (WODU-VA): "Here's a question for everyone. How much TV do you watch? I seem to go through spurts of watching a lot of TV, and spurts where I don't watch TV at all. Right now I'd say I'm in between. Reason I bring this question up is because there is some really DUMB shit on TV right now. Rap music isn't the only medium that is blasting bullshit out to the youth/masses. I survived a Japanese TV Show, most shows on BET and MTV, and all these so called reality shows that are scripted. Even the news shows are awful. Fox news is terrible. Local TV news stations are too damn funny when it comes to weather coverage. Hurricane Dolly just touched down in TX and you'd think it was on the same level as Katrina, the weather channel is geeking out hard on this coverage right now. Reminds me of the local news stations doing weather reports if there was any hint it was going to snow over the winter.

Oh well, everyone needs there outlet I guess.

Musically, I just saw some video clips of Mike Relm on Youtube doing his live shows and I have to say dude has come a long way since his battle days. Good to see some of the people that was making moves back in the 90's battle scene keeping it moving and making it to a larger platform with their craft. Big ups to A-trak, Neil Armstrong, Enferno and all the other DJs out there that took the art to another level. Keep elevating people"...

DJ Sage (CFRO-Vancouver BC, Canada): "Last show was a slamming show. In addition, to all the great music we played we were joined by some very special guests. Our first phoner was with Buff 1. Too be honest it was not until I did some research that I realized I had actually been a fan of Buff 1 for awhile. After finding out that he was part of the Athletic Mic League I was hella excited to chat it up with him. We talked more about his upcoming sophomore album "There's Only One" dropping August 12. In the meantime, we will "beat the speakers up" with his current heater single: www.myspace.com/buff1der

Our next guest that night was first introduced to a lot of people via the Ego Trip's "The White Rapper" show. On the show I always thought Sullee was one of the cats who actually had some talent. We asked and talked about the experience of being on the show. Sullee is definitely not suck in the past, but is working on a full-length album. Check out his current single "Today", which is a dope and honest song: www.myspace.com/sulleemusic

Finally, we were joined by David Faustino aka Bud Bundy. Who wasn't a fan of "Married with Children"! David talks about his beginnings in the industry and his passion for hip-hop music. In fact, David talked about owning one of the first Hip-Hop nightclubs in LA, which featured the likes of Eazy E, Murs, and where Will I Am first got some shine. He talks about his production company and the filming of his new TV series "Starving", which is about D-list celebrities trying to find work, sounds funny!: www.myspace.com/davidfaustino...

Jason-D (RadioBoise.Org): "

I've been on the low for a minute now. Wifey had a baby on July 6th which was a few weeks early. Kind of caught us off guard and we've been trying to catch up since. Happy to say that wifey and little man are doing good. The D Fam expands!

Nate Abney (WKDU-Philly): "Well the summer heatwave has come through Philly. Very hot and some of my family members have said I'm starting to look again like the 1995 version of myself. Reinventions aside I do like alot of the new music I'm getting from all you promoters. It makes me feel good that I don't have to turn on the radio and listen to the same song 20 times. I just listen to an mp3 or a cd from one of you all. I was also rediscovering the genius of Rod Temperton. This guy wrote Always and Forever, Thriller, Off The Wall, Boogie Nights, Lady In My Life and You Put A Move On My Heart to name a few. How is that for a short list resume for somebody stepping to you for your body of work. I wish I could create classics like that. Hope to the summer ends with a bang I'm going to enjoy the rest of it.

Edgie Kokoski (WUNH-NH): "Well, we certainly had no shortage of hip hop idiots this week! Who made the cut? Check it out:

1. DMX - Continuing to convince me that the insanity he displayed on his LPs was not an act, X was arrested in Arizona this past week for attempting to duck a $7,500 hospital bill by checking in under the name "Troy Jones". I guess DMX figured that after half a dozen albums and movies, nobody would realize that "Troy Jones" was the spitting image of the gravel-voiced maniac MC. The sadder part of the story is the fact that apparently DMX doesn't seem to have health insurance or $7,500 lying around. I guess he shouldn't have rented so many 4-wheelers for the "Ruff Ryders Anthem" video shoot.

2. Rick Ross - Amidst swirling rumors that he had once worked as a Corrections Officer, Tony Montana wannabe Ross vehemently denied the accusation claiming "My life is 100% real. These online hackers putting a picture of my face when I was a teenager in high school on other peoples' body. If this s**t was real don't you think they would have more specifics, like dates and everything?”. I guess the hackers also found out Ross' Social Security Number and then time traveled back to 1995 to provide it to Ross' evil twin who worked at the jail from 1995-1997. You can thank thesmokinggun.com for proving that "s**t was real". The bottom line: It's no secret that everyone in the gangsta rap genre exaggerates their street credibililty. It would have actually been refreshing if Ross had acknowledged the truth. No one cared about his past employment history a few years back when former Correctional Officer Splash dropped a very dope album featuring production by 9th Wonder and Khrysis amongst others. The sadder commentary is the fact that in this day in age, Hip-Hop as a genre continues to feel the need to promote criminalism and shun and mock respectable work.

3. Nelly - "Pimp Juice" in France! Yes! Nelly announced this week that his beverage "Pimp Juice" would soon be launching in France & Sweden. “We expect much success in France due to its lively Hip-Hop scene and love of basketball," said Nelly's business partner William Wooten. It's pretty obvious that Wooten has a deep understanding of Hip-Hop culture. I can hardly get through a day without cheap, crass malt liquor and a basketball game. I guess they are banking on the French and Swedes to be as stupid as whomever kept this business venture alive in the States"...
